Meet our staff

Bro. Richard Goodwin, Sr. Lead Pastor
At the age of 18, Bro. Goodwin gave his heart to the Lord. He was gloriously filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost and baptized in Jesus' holy name.
Bro. Goodwin has a servant's heart and has blessed a number of churches preaching revivals, serving as youth pastor, new converts care director, assistant pastor, and associate pastor. He generously gives his life, his talents and other blessings to the congregation where he serves.
While serving in ministry, Bro. Goodwin has been self-employed and manages the business he founded in 1978.
In 1977, Bro. Goodwin married Shirley Lamon. They have 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 daughter-in-law, and 2 grandchildren.
Bro. Goodwin is dedicated to the Lord and to his family.

In Loving Memory Bro. M. (Marion) D. (Dean) Lamon & Sis. Hester Arlene Pinkston Lamon
Bro. M. D. Lamon August 5, 1931 - March 13, 2019
Sis. Hester Lamon April 16, 1930 - December 13, 2006
At the age of 18, Bro. Lamon was ordained to preach the gospel in the state of Texas. After his ordination, Bro. and Sis. Lamon evangelized for one year. Bro. Lamon felt God’s call on his life to build and pastor churches. He has pastored churches in Lufkin, TX, Huntington, TX, San Augustine County, TX, Aiken, TX and Center, TX.
When Bro. and Sis. Lamon came to Center, in 1966, there were dense woods on the four acres of land that would eventually have a church planted on that location. The church purchased the old Central Baptist Church building. The land was cleared and the building was moved onto the property in 5 pieces and restored.
About 6 years ago, the Lord gave Bro. Lamon a vision of a new church campus that would be built debt free. He supervised the construction of the new sanctuary until March 1, 2020. Bro. Richard Goodwin, Sr. and the church congregation are continuing the completion of Bro. Lamon's vision for the future of the First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ.
Bro. & Sis. Lamon worked for the church with an intense dedication to the Lord and to the First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ. Sis. Lamon taught Sunday School classes, was Minister of Music, and ladies' prayer leader. Bro. Lamon was lead pastor of the First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Center, TX for 53 years and 9 months, when the Lord called him to heaven.
Bro. & Sis. Lamon were married July 3, 1948. They were married 58 years when the Lord called Sister Lamon to heaven. Bro. and Sis. Lamon are the parents of four children, 1 daughter and 3 sons. They are the grandparents of 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
GIVING to First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ
Giving
We are building a new church. We are presently completing the new Worship Center, the brick section in the picture. The church is building this new campus debt free.
No one in ministry receives payment for his service to the church. All donations received are given to the building fund for the new church campus. We are asking everyone to pray for us and donate as you feel led to do so.
